Training and Credentials

Dr. Jeffrey Tran began his academic journey at the University of Georgia, earned his medical degree at Emory University School of Medicine in 2016, and completed his ophthalmology residency at the Cullen Eye Institute at Baylor College of Medicine — one of the top ophthalmology training programs in the world. He began his residency in 2016 and has been in practice ever since, founding Stratus Eye in December 2022.

He is now involved in many ophthalmology societies, presenting at the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Refractive Surgery, and the Georgia Society of Ophthalmology.

BEYOND THE CLINIC

The same discipline that defines Dr. Tran's approach to medicine carries into every part of his life. He is an avid powerlifter having joined the 1000 pound club. He is also an avid endurance athlete who has completed multiple marathons, is currently training for his first half Ironman triathlon, and has set his sights on completing a full Ironman in 2027. He approaches physical training the way he approaches surgery — with precision, consistency, and a Type A commitment to pushing the human body to its full potential.

When he's not training or operating, Dr. Tran is an enthusiastic traveler with a particular love for Japan, a self-described foodie, and a devoted fan of BTS and Korean pop culture.

He is a proud father, and his family is the reason behind everything he builds.
